Advice for students: Real Decisions event and web resources

As students leave school and receive their results, they may have questions about courses, ordering preferences, upgrading, offers and what uni will be like. Our Real Decisions event on 20 December, and the After you apply through QTAC web page will provide answers to these questions.

Support for challenging circumstances

Students are encouraged to explore the range of QUT support services available to help them during succeed at uni even if they are experiencing difficult circumstances. Students with a disability, health condition or injury are also encouraged to find out more about disability support and make contact with staff early.

You’re invited—Games and Interactive Entertainment showcase

Students, parents, career practitioners and teachers are invited to the Bachelor of Games and Interactive Entertainment End of Year Showcase on 2 November. You'll see demonstrations of the games created by QUT students, find out more about the course and have fun playing new games.

Scholarships for business students

QUT Business School offers a range of academic scholarships including Corporate Partners in Excellence, Dean’s Honours and Business Academic Excellence. Scholarships are also available for Indigenous students including Getting Started and the Laurie Cowled Indigenous Business Scholarship for female students.

Accommodation options for students moving to Brisbane

Students moving to Brisbane to study should start thinking about accommodation well before they start university. Find out more about the variety of different accommodation options and QUT offers a complete accommodation service.

Faculty and course updates

Read about the strong employment demand for early childhood teachers, gaining entry to the competitive Bachelor of Medical Imaging and law students presenting at a pro bono conference in Bali and a legal industry innovation competition.

START QUT closing dates and orientation

Applications for START QUT, to study in Semester 1, 2017, close on 31 October. Students will be advised by email of the outcome by mid-November. Orientation for START QUT students will be at Gardens Point on 17 January, or Kelvin Grove on 18 January, depending on the unit they are studying. We will email START QUT school contacts in early December to advise the results of 2016 participants and confirm names of students participating in the 2017 program.

Admission process for international students

The admission process for international students completing Year 12 in Australia is different to domestic students. Check our step-by-step admission guide for international students.

Deferment and what happens the following year?

Many students choose to defer their QTAC offer and take up studies the following year. Find out more about how they go about enrolling and what if they want to change courses, or no longer want to study.
